Christmas Tree is up!

We put up our Christmas tree already. We bought it at a thrift store for 15 bucks, what a deal. We thought of buying a new one, but it would've been more than 70 bucks...

Life in Calgary

So it's November, getting colder, and we're enjoying life in Calgary..and we're still trying to bike to school. This particular day was -4C, hence the snazzy outfit for Stefan.

Halloween

Stefan has never experienced Halloween in its glorious North American style...so I made sure we went with my nieces and nephew. Despite the ghoulish nature of the evening, we managed to find one lovely lawn specimen to pose with and did get some candy too!

SALTS trip

I was a chaperone on my grade 9 class SALTS trip. We sailed through the Pacific Islands on a big ship. It was better than expected, not much rain, plenty of sunshine, great food, good laughs, and PORPOISES! We had a porpoise show for 30 minutes...ah bliss. I'll see if I can find a video...

Joey Tomato

So I bought a tomato plant from the Farmer's Market in July. I was VERY happy to find one that wasn't diseased. I quickly named him Joey and he grew rapidly and into a bush...but no tomatoes...The fruit showed up in September before the frosts and soon Joey moved in with us. He struggled but somehow produced a few tomatoes that I savoured....
